It doesn’t suck, the fact it’s continuously dragged on does. I mean, this is me being a grumpy old man when generations to come still get toĮnjoy the game much like I did in my youth.

#Flycut windows series

Once again, thanks for reading and tell me whatcha think –Īm I a bitter old man or dyou think the series needs to slowly fade into immortality? They make a Pokémon after an ice cream that’s when the line has been crossed. If Pokemon is a highly successful multimedia franchise that's aimed at kids, then naturally they have to keep making more games because at the very least they have to have one on each of their consoles, otherwise how else are kids supposed to play it? If it's truly popular among kids, then it's no wonder that new versions of a game with the same great fundamental gameplay are going to sell well. I honestly could not go back and play any of them before maybe Diamond/Pearl/Platinum. Battle mechanics were overhauled in the 4th generation so it's hard for me to go back, but also the games go through some huge quality of life change almost every generation. They also started evolving some of the core concepts with each one too. The essentials stay mostly the same, the main idea of battling your way to the end is still there, but we've had some shake-ups in Pokemon Contests, Ruby/Sapphire/Emerald and Black/White were a leap forward story-wise, X/Y had some fun side activities, Sun/Moon changed from Pokemon Gyms to earning the equivalent of badges by doing much more varied things, they do legitimately develop the series, but I'd agree that on the surface it's the same. Besides, they do come up with good Pokemon sometimes.
